My interest in DEI stems from my research into the evaluation and assessment of the oral language skills of children who come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
My colleague, Dr. Rihana Mason, and I have developed two new approaches that aim to help both larger systems and individual practitioners rethink and integrate DEI approaches into their everyday practice – reMODEL and the RAIN Approach. Because DEI should not just be a 1-hour seminar you have to take every year. It’s something we should do every day for everyone.
